Title: When I am most myself
Size: W 40 x H 55cm, W15.7xH21.6 inch
Medium: Pencil on Paper
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This self-portrait began from a casual photo I took while lying in bed and looking out the window without any intention to stage or pose. Because it was unplanned, the image reveals my most natural self. In this sense, the piece is not just a record of physical appearance but an inner reflection on identity. My truest self is not found in carefully crafted images but in the everyday moments of life. Through this coincidental portrait, I sought to confront my essence and capture the authenticity emerging from undecorated glimpses

Title: Behind the Scenes
Size: W35 X H49 cm, W13.7xH 13.3 inch
Medium: Pencil on Paper
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This still-life drawing portrays an antique fan surrounded by objects of different qualities and uses. Though unplanned, the composition naturally creates a scene where the fan acts as a protagonist and the surrounding objects complement it like supporting actors. For me, the fan represents visible outcomes, while the surrounding objects symbolize the unseen staff. Studying art has shifted my focus from final results to the creative process itself. This work defines my artistic identity as focusing on the hidden efforts that make the result possible and enjoying the whole process as the maker.

Title: Where I Become
Size: W36 X H52 cm, W14.1xH20.4 inch
Medium: Pencil on Paper
Date Completed: 2025
Description: My room acts as more than a functional space; it is a record of my growth and identity. Every detail—the marks on the desk, traces on the walls, and arrangement of furniture—tells the story of my time spent resting, studying, and drawing in this room. Though small, the room has become a stage for my dreams and a place where my inner and outer worlds connect. It is both a sanctuary and a creative workshop, reflecting not only the life I have lived but also the direction I aspire to take. The room full of my history becomes a silent self-portrait of my identity and dreams.

Title: Shared Horizon
Size: W3000 X H4000 pxl. 4.2 MB
Medium: Digital Arts
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This piece captures a personal memory and the vibrancy of diversity. I painted desaturated photos with vivid brush strokes and shapes to highlight depth and energy. It shows the first joyful beach trip with me and three friends I met at NLCS Jeju, each with different backgrounds and experiences. Living in a dormitory with such different individuals was new to me and revealed that diversity brings inevitable but necessary conflicts of ideas and tastes. This artwork reflects my appreciation of friendship and the lessons of connection through shared experiences.

Title: Behind and Beyond the Stage
Size: W3646 X H4532 pxl. 4.8 MB
Medium: Digital Arts
Date Completed: 2025
This digital artwork is based on a photo after a school musical, CATS. The piece highlights me and my friends sharing joy and a sense of accomplishment, each a member of theater tech, the main cast, and the audience respectively. I expanded the canvas with textured brushes and balanced warm and cool tones through layered filters. Beyond celebrating success, the piece emphasizes that theater depends on the harmony of the unseen work of tech, the performance of actors, and the presence of the audience. This piece explores how art is born from the collective presence of everyone involved.

Title: Breaking the Barrier
Size: W3000 X H4000 pxl. 4 MB
Medium: Digital Arts
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This artwork emphasizes the human role in lowering the barrier of technology in storytelling. As part of theater tech, I studied the camera to capture the energy of live performance. The process was intimidating as I was new to filming, but the highlight of theater tech comes from allowing students to handle professional tools. By experimenting with lines, textures, and layered images, I recomposed a photo of myself with a camera to contrast the complex equipment with my plain black shirt. The piece breaks down the negativity toward machines, suggesting that with a guiding human element, technology becomes a medium for creativity.

Title: Celestial Humility
Size: W4039 X H2933 pxl. 3.5 MB
Medium: Digital Arts
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This artwork conveys cosmic wonder and the humility inspired by the night sky. The awe-inspiring experience of seeing the celestial bodies at an observatory deepened my interest in astronomy. I created the piece, combining desaturated photos, galaxy textures, and layered filters to add depth and color, to reflect on my meditative practice. It reminds me of the lesson and motivation greater than excessive praise or discipline given from the quiet sky in a society where people strive to show off themselves. The piece delivers a humble realization to start with creating small ripples that could later grow into larger resonances.

Title: Through the Lens of Sound
Size: W2737 X H4101 pxl. 4.7MB
Medium: Digital Arts
Date Completed: 2025
Description: This digital piece captures the moment of extending the impact of a performance. I experimented with filter effects, brush strokes, and gradient maps to create a diverse look of my first experience using my own camera to record my friend’s band performance. I appear covered in blue and purple stage lights, showing my role as a participant through capturing moments that were later shared through social media. Though I may not have been on stage, every person involved in a performance, on and off stage, plays a key role. It is a moment only I can demonstrate, fully immersed in the performance and understanding the perspective of both performer and audience.

Title: Dynamic Sketching
Size: 14 x 11 inch
Medium: Digital drawing
Year: 2025
Description: This dynamic sketching exercise integrates texture rendering, geometric perspective, and organic form studies. By observing insects, plants, and marine organisms, the work explores structure, proportion, and light, while also reinforcing spatial construction skills. The study highlights fundamental design training that bridges technical precision with creative visualization, forming a solid base for advanced design practice.
